Time to break out the cold weather gear. So far this year I haven’t needed more than a light pair of tights, arm warmers, and light gloves. With tomorrow’s forecast calling for a high of 48 degrees, it looks like I’ll need something a bit warmer.
My cold weather kit hasn’t changed much in ten years. Despite the proliferation of high tech fabrics I still wear a pair of heavy wool tights, a long sleeve jersey and wool/nylon jacket. With insultated gloves and shoe covers I can ride comfortably (well, more or less) even when the temps drop into the high 30s.
The ride tomorrow starts at the Guilford Courthouse Visitors Center. I have no idea of the distance. It depends on who shows up, and our collective mood. The sun’s gonna be shining, though.
