No, face it: You’ve used these before.

  1. "I haven’t been riding much lately."
  2. "I’m taking it easy today. Yesterday’s ride was intense."
  3. "I’m saving something for tomorrow’s ride. It’s gonna be intense."
  4. "I’m still dialing in how this bike fits. It’s not quite there yet."
  5. "This ride doesn’t suit me. I’m not a [insert one: climber, sprinter, rouleur]." If you elect to claim that you are not a "rouleur," you had better be in a country where someone knows what that means.
