I harbor some nostalgia for tubulars. Years ago someone built me a set of tubular wheels with Fiamme red label rims and Campy records hubs. I ran Conti tubulars on them and averaged 5,000 or so miles per set of tires. And the ride was unlike anything else. Occasionally I pull those wheels out and throw them on the Pinarello for a ride around the block — just to remind myself what great wheels feel like.

I’m glad to know that great tubulars aren’t dead yet. For example: Dugasts.
