Back in April I organized a ride from Hagan Stone Park, south of Greensboro, to Saxapahaw and back. I wasn’t able to finish, so I’ve been planning to ride the route again.
As it turns out, I designed a similar route for the GVC Memorial Day Ride. Actually, three routes: 63, 39, and 23 miles. The longest goes to Saxapahaw by way of the typical route (Greensboro-Chapel Hill Rd), but returns via some quiet, rolling farm roads.
Most folks opted for the 39 mile route. The long route was too tempting to miss, so despite the hot, windy weather that’s what I did.
