Momovelo bids adieu.

It’s a shame, although Momovelo always seemed like more of an ideal than a fully realized shop. Despite that, Kai (the owner) really seemed to get the concept of bikes as a part of one’s life much better than the average shop. Most shops sell equipment, but he peddled funky ideals that bikes could represent: Commuter bikes, going-to-coffeeshops bikes, bikes to take along on trains/planes, and the like. Those concepts – I never got the sense that these ended up under anyone’s butt – were unusually well thought out. Every part was selected for its purpose (even the cheap parts), and the colors were inspired. Like I said, it’s a shame.
