Storms nixed the morning ride, so I spent the day running errands. Along the way I stopped at Cycles de Oro for the Spring Sale. While ogling the new Colnagos and other exotica I picked up a pair of Vittoria Rubino Pros (in flashy red and black, no less), thinking I’d stash them away for the future.
Well, the future is now.
While looking into a recurring flat tire I found lots of nicks in the Maxxis tires I’ve been riding. Not to mention what felt like delaminating tread on the rear tire. So, out with the old and in with the new.
I’ve had good luck with Rubino Pros before. We’ll see if the new set matches up to past experience.

I’ve been using Maxxis as well for some time now. Good price-quality if you ask me. But what’s your experience?
$30 for the pair. ~2,000 miles of wear. They ride and handle fine.
What’s not to like?
I’ll buy Maxxis again in the future – probably something along the lines of the Columbieres.
