No ride weekend

Blame the cool air and persistent rain. I didn’t ride this weekend. I looked at my training log and found that this is the first weekend since mid-February that I’ve been off my bike. No wonder it felt so strange.

Don’t worry though — I kept myself occupied. Between working around the house, work work, reading, dining with friends, and a few other things, I wasn’t idle.

Perhaps it’s new bike envy — a lot of my friends are tooling around on new ones — but I’m thinking in that direction myself. There’s nothing particularly wrong with my Burley Fox Hollow, but there doesn’t have to be for me to covet another bicycle, right? Actually, I think that the consistent riding over the past three years has made me more conscious of the qualities of my bike. And so I’ve started a mental inventory of the good and the bad. More on this later.
