Reading Matt Chester takes me back to the days when I used to see Jacque Phelan show up at NORBA races on a drop bar WTB and hang with the fast crowd. When I would spin around town on a borrowed fixed gear or Schwinn townie, and not worry to much about the gear. When I used to argue (not that this has changed) that taking a turn off the road on a road bike was the right thing to do.
