Some days you can hammer. Others, you’re just lucky to hang on.
I rode quite a bit the past week, and saw my performance veer from good to horrible to good again. The Thursday Day School ride was my nadir — I had a lousy time and felt like crap. But then I bounced back and rode well over the weekend, logging 46 miles in Saturday’s heat and humidity, and 33+ yesterday. Both rides I felt good — not enought to hang with the really fast guys — but I was climbing pretty well, and had plenty of power to keep rolling on the flats. I’m particularly happy about the climbing, since I’m thinking about tackling a ride later this season that’s going to demand the ability to go uphill.
