I was dragging after a tough ride on Thursday (headwind, too much work for my out of shape legs, etc.) so I opted for the coffee ride on Saturday. I made the mistake of leaving the house way too early – that’s what I get for not paying attention to the schedule – so I had a frosty ride to CDO where it starts. Then I (super)cooled my heels in the parking lot for 40 minutes waiting for the ride to begin. A total of six of us showed, hit Simple Kneads for coffee and pastries, then rode the Battleground Loop. On the way home I rolled by Lindley Park Coffee Shop for a double espresso. Afterwards my legs felt vaguely okay.
The North American Handmade Bicycle Show was this weekend. Wish I could have been there to see some excellent examples of builders’art. The Bruce Gordon’s my favorite. I’ve seen several variations of this bike and never get tired of it.
