What do you carry?

Flats are a fact of cycling life, not to mention a minor- to great hassle. Yet I’ve run across a number of riders who don’t bother to carry the minimum of a spare tube and pump. I don’t get it.

Anyway, here’s my solution:

Burrito seat pack

The basic kit: Spare tube, two CO2 cylinders, CO2 inflator, two tire levers, glueless patches, latex gloves (for the really nasty jobs), and a square of tin cloth (from Rivendell) for a wrapper.

The works, wrapped up like a burrito (do not eat). This is why Rivendell calls the square of fabric a burrito pack.

Strapped in place. For the old school look, use a worn toe strap.
