Odds and Ends

Random thoughts and observations from the past few weeks:

My dad passed away June 8. The same day, I started a new job. Life around that time was messy, to say the least. I only hope that the work I’m doing now would have made him proud.

I joke that I now live in Dallas and only return to New York to visit. That’s not quite true, but new job/old jobs have combined to take me to the Metroplex five times in the last two months.

Jill and I have an upcoming Breakthrough T1D fundraising ride coming up. We’re organizing it, and have folks coming from all over to join us. A cure for T1D is on the near horizon. Consider donating, please.

I’ve been a fan of The Bad Plus for 27 years, and finally saw them live. It was better than Jill or me could have hoped. They’re calling it quits after this year. See them while you can.

Speaking of music, friends here happened to be at the Montreal Jazz Fest for the free Angine de Poitrine show. They said it was spectacular. I’m jealous.

I finally got around to reverse engineering Beal’s ginger ice cream recipe. Not to be immodest, but mine’s better.
